We were contacted recently by Rob who told us he had just acquired this beautiful 1920’s Daimler limousine which had been stood for about a year so could we help get it going. This type of car is a bit older than we are used to but over a day’s fiddling, 2 fuel pumps, fixing the carb and figuring out how to drive it we managed to get this lovely old car firing on all cylinders and Rob was able to drive it to its new home here in South Devon. There is still work to do but we will be offering this as a wedding car from next year so if you are looking for the ultimate in vintage wedding transport just give us a call. 07918715039. Steve

Colin our modified S2 Land Rover has had a new suit! As a special treat to mark Colin’s retirement from long service moving boats he has been treated to a full re-paint and a good clean. he is now looking his very best and has already been booked for weddings in 2017. Colin still wears his sailing heritage with a special roof made from a sail which complements the white seats and now very bright paintwork. So why not be different and a bit more daring on your special wedding day in Devon and let Colin get you to the church on time.
Our lovely classic white mini had it’s first outing as a wedding car last week. Father of the bride came to collect the car for a 3 day hire for a wedding in Somerset. I have to say Jon was not altogether keen on driving an classic mini on a 70 mile journey from Devon to Somerset but when he came back he was all smiles and the little car had completely won him over. I understand the happy couple had their honeymoon in Italy – so the Italian job lives on eh?!
Sunday 26th May we had a show stand at Beautiful Dartington Hall for a wedding open day (the main show is in April and not to be missed). This was a smaller gathering showing off the magnificent great hall with a few invited wedding suppliers displaying a variety of great ideas for that special day. We had Meryl the Morris Minor on display outside and a show stand inside. I got talking to a chap who came over to our stand. He told me he had a classic car and that he had chauffeured a few weddings just for friends, perhaps I would I be interested in taking his car on as part of our wedding car business? I had no idea what to expect, these conversations often end with a Morris Marina. But this time Andrew handed me a photo of his breathtaking DB5. Well I didn’t take much persuading! We are delighted to include this magnificent classic as part of our wedding fleet. Now we really can offer everything from the nostalgic fun of a Morris Minor, the graceful opulence of a classic Rolls Royce and the iconic James Bond Aston Martin DB5.
So now you really can make your great day a classic.
Give us call on 07918715039 anytime and we can help plan that special wedding transport.
Our old Ford Zodiac classic car was the star of a special training film shot in Gloucester this week. We had the full film crew with 2 camera men including a special ‘drone’ for overhead shots (we can publish a few film clips later) a sound man who spent most of the time lying on the back seat tying to stay out of sight and a director pulling it all together. The presenter had to get used to driving a 1964 car with no power steering but by the end of the day he loved the old car even if his arms ached! The Zodiac is a rare and unusual old car, an English interpretation of American flamboyance. The Zodiac makes a unique wedding carriage especially teamed up with our Triumph Herald or our Morris Minor. Classic cars always make a great talking point at any occasion, everyone will certainly remember your big entrance and sight of the Bride and Groom driving away in a beautiful old English classic car will always make a great memory of a classic day. take a look at https://devonclassicweddingcars.co.uk for full details of a ever growing range of great classic and unusual wedding cars.
